There are still some citations that I can't seem to find page number for, and the footnotes are going to be messy until the final round because I cannot be arsed to fix it when I know I'm going to have to do it AGAIN after the next round of edits. I re-read the conclusion and it was not as rubbishy as I thought, so I fixed it up some more. I got through re-reading and editing the fourth chapter too, and hopefully it won't need to many edits. (Splitting it off to make it my next book project will probably be the thing, anyway.) Dr. ML says she'll get it back to me on Monday, so that's half a week I've got to take a break and do OTHER things besides my dissertation.

Then I went to campus and cleaned up my desk a bit, and pulled down my posters. I brought home some books, sorted some papers. There's a small thing of stationery I'll take to the big TA office. I should have my office cleared out by the weekend.

I've been eating sandwiches for lunch: sourdough bread, with spreadable ham and some cheese. It's been really nice! The grill is working great even though it's broken and I have to hold it together with an elastic headband. Still have some lasagna left, but the other night I had some shallow-fried fish, and that was nice.

I went for a walk tonight, and for a couple of stretches I jogged a bit. I didn't stretch beforehand, which I think may have made the jogs a bad idea. I'm trying to see if I can get this usual 5k walk down to 1 hour from the 1 and a half hours. It just takes so long! I did forget that jogging/running makes me sweat like my forehead is leaking all over my face and I should have worn a headband. Next time *shakes fist* IIRC I also used to run with a towel, too, especially when running in Malaysia. (I don't recall having to do that in Halifax.) I wasn't as winded for the brief spurts I did do, though, so that's something, I think.

Maybe I'll ask someone if they want to go to the trampoline park.

- I got my worms! They actually arrived on Thursday but no one had left me a notice. Good thing USPS Tracking was pretty easy, and I went to the office this morning to ask about any packages. They've gone into the new indoor bin I've prepped. I can't tell if the mold is good or bad because the Internet is evenly split; on one hand, it says mold is bad, but on the other, it also says that fungus growth is good and helps break down the stuff for the worms to eat more easily and they don't necessarily eat the scraps directly, or something.

I'm trying very hard to resist opening the bin to have a look see... it's covered with a hand towel so it can breathe and there's minimal evaporation. I'll give them a week and then check!! In the meantime, I better start eating more plant material so I have something to feed the babies.

- I've found that handsewing is pretty great to do when listening to a podcast! I've finally been intently listening to Night Vale while stitching on my rank braids for my Star Trek blouse. There's something about having something visual to deal with that's kind of mindless while listening to something else. I've tried to listen to Night Vale while laying in bed (can't do it at the computer because then I'd just end up reading other things and lose focus on it) but that just made me fall asleep. I also can't machine sew while listening to stuff either; that takes up too much concentration. Thus I am finally up to #17! Which is ten more episodes that I have been able to muster.

So... I might try to take up more embroidery, maybe?

- I blew through editing today! Also sent out and received contracts.

- I made pork and potatoes tonight. I'm using the tiny potatoes. I am trying to be good and eating a new kind of starch to give my diet some variety.

- I shall turn in early tonight.

Here is a random Takarazuka Revue video:

I have finished reading all the stories sitting in the #SEAsteampunk inbox!!!! Yay!! I think we're still waiting on a couple more people but Joyce and I have agreed on a hard deadline of next week. Next Friday we'll send out rejections and let people know if we're still haggling over their stories. There're a few we disagree on, and a few which one likes but the other is not sure on, that sort of thing.

Tomorrow I shall dally to the bank, get some cash to spend at SDCC (and try to remain within that budget the whole weekend), then dally downtown, grab some lunch, and then go to the Greyhound station. I have a small bag of clothes and a backpack of promo material and book to take notes in. I'm going to wear ballet flats all weekend. Hope my feet don't hurt. San Diego weather is not non-sensical, right? Should I bring a sweater and socks? I shall bring a sweater and find some space for socks, that seems best. *rambles on*

Blurble!

So I had a packed day today! Started off with a doctor's appointment and a Pap which, well, I like my doctor but she is VERY peremptory and does not bother warning me ahead of time what she plans to do. It's "you're going to feel my hand" and then suddenly SPECULUM. Come on lady! Anyway, she suggested that instead of allergy pills I take decongestants, so I will try that.

Around noontime I went to the Grad/Faculty Teatime which one of the profs likes to host around Lunar New Year's, and had a brief exchange with one of the Chinese professors I never spoke to before. Everyone got kind of awkward when they asked me what I normally did around New Year's and I said "well my family usually goes to a Kuan Yin temple and I'd like to go to the Mazu temple in LA Chinatown".

But I had to go for lecture! And afterwards we came back to the library to see that the prof hostess was still lingering and we hung out for our meeting and for tea. Then I helped clean up.

Meeting with the Indigenous Media prof, which also went well. I told her I wanted to talk about NDNs on Tumblr and how interventions occur on Twitter and Tumblr, and she suggested that I share a post I wanted to look at specifically, and I said it would have to be a few. I still have time to think about it though.

I have been unbelievably peckish lately and cannot seem to stop eating which is a problem.

I've also been happily sending email invites to people for the SEA steampunk anthology! Am very excited. Open call should be up soon! Yaaaaaaaayyyyy.
