I disagree with Jaded's initial theory that it was a lack of resources that prevented the East from colonizing the West, and completely agree with you that it was the complete opposite! 's the reason Europe merchants were so eager to find a route to China and India, while the people there, for the most part, couldn't care less about getting to Europe, because what was there anyway?
