So I had this awesome mom call me today...

Right, so as the title says, I had this awesome mom call me this morning.

Actually, Kirk from Conference Services called first, asking if it was okay to give out my phone number to this lady, because she was calling about the SMUDS Games Night 2.0 (it's 2.0 purely because it's in the second semester of this year). I said, sure, why not, but after 11.15am, because I have class. Apparently she's SMU staff and she had seen one of the Games Night posters around and wanted to know if non-SMU students were allowed to attend. I said, why not? Personally, I will be bemoaning the fact that I'll be missing BOTH Little Mosque on the Prairie and Jeremy Hotz's live show at the Rebecca Cohn (he's on his What a Miserable Tour This Is!) while sorting out the costume room in the Theatre, because the costume room needs a good cleanup.

Her son will be the one attending, and he's fourteen. I probably ought to warn her that we're not his parents and there will be some unpoliced discussion going on. Nothing bad, of course, but if we were to become role models, that would be a bad idea.

She asked what the format of the Games Night would be, and I said, "well, it's basically the boys bringing in TVs and gaming systems and setting it up at different stations, and people hang out and play as they please."

She replied, "Oh, you mean like my house over the weekend."

Yes, ma'am, most likely!

I'm kinda looking forward to meeting her tomorrow.

LMFAO!!! That's cute!

Ohh I forwarded Julie's email to the Astronomy and Physics Undergrads and Grad. Student mailing lists.

It was such short notice though!

This Mum ROCKS.

And by the way, my former Uni club EGG (Electronic Gamers Guild) have Games Night too. Only its in Day Time and in the University Concourse area after study hours.

Well, it's weird, seeing as it's the Theatre society putting it on, not the Computer Science dept. We don't do it often, but we figured since it was pretty popular last semester, we'd do it again, especially since it's Winter-een-mas.

Well, the posters have been up since last week. And Julie changed her password. And has been busy. Hence why it's so late :P
