This is a very important question.

CAN a flying unicorn outfly robot fliers?

No, really, can a flying unicorn outfly robot fliers?

Definitely -- the robot fliers, as physical constructs, are limited to some small fraction of the speed of light, whereas the flying unicorn (clearly a fantasy figure, as everyone knows real unicorns can't fly) is limited only by the speed of one's imagination...

It really depends.

Under normal circumstances, with robots constructed from alloy metals, flying unicorns will win, because robots are constrained, by their nature, to the laws of nature, while flying unicorns are not.

However, if the robot has significant amounts of cold iron in its design (either as a carapace or in its controlling circuitry), it gets complicated, as flying unicorns are creatures of fae, and the banality caused by the cold iron may affect their speed. 60% of the time, the robot gets the flying unicorn.

The odds get far better when these flying robots are equipped with cold iron grapplers or pneumatically-launched chains -- in this case, what happens is that the flying robots ensnare the flying unicorn with cold iron, and then the flying unicorn... you know, dies.

And if the flying robot is coal-powered and made of cold iron...

Are the robots themselves unicorns?

Are the unicorns cyborgs?

Depends, are the robot's also transformers?

Wouldn't that make them Pegasi?
