I don't understand how people can think Idris Elba's speech was bad? ;_; Someone help me understand?

I feel biased because I would be happy listening to Idris Elba read the phone book, but yes, I'm also curious about the outrage.

Divorced from Idris Elba's wonderful voice, or maybe even with it, the speech does sound a tad jingoistic.
