The Meme About Me

So, it's kinda occurred to me, while chatting to [livejournal.com profile] the_afterlight, during which it came out that I want to ask a girl out, he'd never realized I'm bisexual (or that I identify as pansexual) all this while, and it was something he should have known. It's not really a big deal to me, but I figure that should take this opportunity to do this meme:

Ask me a question about something you feel you should know about me, but don't, for whatever reason.

I'm sort of yoinking this from [livejournal.com profile] lassiterfics who did hers in a brilliant autobiographical way but I'm too lazy atm for anything other than straight answers.

Ask away, f-list.

What music do you love?

[identity profile] fantasyecho.livejournal.com 2009-12-05 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
Metal (in particular power metal), some indie, some rock, musicals, classical (Romantic period), some anime soundtracks and Gary Numan (in a class of his own). Recently I've also discovered a love for ragtime. And then there're the random songs here and there.

Besides steampunk, what else defines you?

[identity profile] fantasyecho.livejournal.com 2009-12-05 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
Way, way before steampunk, there was writing, first and foremost, followed closely by love of literature. After that, being Malaysian-Chinese.

What are your biggest goals in life? Keep them to three.

What's your favorite food?

Where else have you traveled?

Being a world-famuos writer (well, that was obvious). Opening my own library. I want to say "becoming a sex educator in Malaysia", but that's just hero worship of Heather Corinna.

Deep fried garoupa (http://www.ravejoint.com/food/899-Deep-Fried-Garoupa) (tilapia if garoupa is unavailable) in soya sauce, as cooked in proper Cantonese restaurants back home in Malaysia. Coming a close second, deep fried pomfret fish.

Australia, Italy, Morocco, Thailand, USA (West Coast: Oregon, LA for Disneyland, San Diego for Seaworld), China, England, and Japan if you count the meandering around Narita during a 12-hour layover. Singapore, too, but it's like almost all Malaysians have gone to Singapore for one reason or another at some point.

Interesting. I never knew that you asked out girls yet for some reason, I'm not surprised at all to hear that you're bisexual. What's the difference between pansexual and bisexual btw?

As for my real question for you - How do you see your future e.g career, marriage, kids (or not)?

[identity profile] fantasyecho.livejournal.com 2009-12-05 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not really something a lot of people know because I've never asked a girl out before, so it just never came up in conversation, lol. Pansexuality is similar to bisexuality, except bisexual connotes "attraction to two genders", whereas pansexual connotes "attraction by aesthetic and sensual appeal", which means I'm not necessarily attracted to just a certain gender, but so long as a person falls within my ideal aesthetic, whether physical or personality-wise, no matter where they are on the gender spectrum, I'd find them attractive.

Hmmmm. Right now, my answer is: Murky. I hope to achieve a PhD in Something Interesting. I also plan to have a child a little before I turn thirty (whether I'm married or not), so as soon as I get settled in a job, I'm setting aside a nest egg for the child.
