So, after seeing Princess and the Frog, I went to Chapters. I has loot. <3

Marvel 1602
Gail Carriger's Soulless
AND TWO BDB BOOKS! .... yeah, about time I caught up to you guys >_> I never read beyond the first one. I have Lover Eternal and Lover Awakened! I wish they stated where these books are placed in the series, though.
So yeah. Looking forward to digging into them. ^_^

Lover Eternal is the second book and Lover Awakened is the third book. I actually read all of them 'til Lover Enshrined. After that, I just stopped caring really.

I really liked them in the beginning but as I read more, I started to dislike the characters more and more. I feel that the vampire guys are all overpossesive, borderline stalkery, oversexed machos. About half of the women start off being portrayed as independent, strong, successful women with their own career. Once they become a vampire spouse, all they do is just sit around at the vampire mansion, waiting for their vampire hubby to come home and fuck them senseless. Gets boring real fast IMO.

Yeah, that's why I quit reading romance novels, period. They're so problematic, it's so easy to see why they're so mainstream: they fit right into right wing MOs.

After this series, though, I'm gonna try the Sookie Stackhouse novels. I hear those are excellent and don't suffer the same problems as BDB.

There are Sookie Stackhouse novels? I didn't know that. I thought she was only a character from the TV-series 'True Blood'.

The series is based on the books, actually!
