jhameia: ME! (Plot Bunny)
Fuck Greenblatt and hooks, at least for two minutes (I'm actually finding it easier to write the stupid paper by hand, too). I wanna talk about NaNoWriMo!!

Again, I'm Municipal Liaison... I can't remember a time when I was just a regular member anymore. I've bought sweets for them, and I've got the swag. This year's swag consists of four different stickers! I don't think there's enough of each per member, so they'll have to decide which two they like the most, I guess. Aisha of Paperchase Cafe is pleased we'll be back again, and she's saving me a circle of couches in the corner as well as a couple of tables.

Our Kick-Off is the beginning of NaNo itself, when we really should be home scrambling to get out as many words as possible. So to help facilitate that, I'm holding a word war tournament. Word wars are small spans of time in which participants write furiously to outdo one another - they're usually five, ten, and twenty minutes long... a lot of words can be written when you've only got five minutes to write in... and then it all adds up beautifully. So I'll be doing a Word War Tournament, and I've bought prizes (stationery, of course) for the winners. The Top Three will get to pick their prizes and their swag first.

We'll also be having a reading of the Eye of Argon, as we normally do. This year I'm going to get the newbies to read it first before the veterans, because I know the veterans are just going to over-dramatize it. Plus, the game we play is normally to keep reading until the reader laughs. XD

Also making the rounds will be my little booklet in which we write the Adventures of Little Tommy. Little Tommy was created last year (or the year before) when I decided that everybody needed something to do while chatting, so I passed the booklet around and told everyone to add one sentence to the story. Once it made a round, I read it out loud. It's some pretty amazing stuff. =D

So, if anybody is in the Halifax area and taking part in NaNo, get in touch with me!! Here're the details for our Kick-Off:

Date: Nov 1, Thursday
Time: 5pm - 8pm
Venue: Paperchase Cafe, Blowers St.

If you're taking part in the Word War Tournament, let me know what you'll be using!

Woo!
