jhameia: ME! (Joline)
Turbot fish is really good. Next week, mackerel.

I've been trying all sorts of different fishes for frying. Eventually I'll try other methods of cooking of course, like steaming and roasting, but I enjoy fried fish the most.

Fish I've tried include (not a full list because I honestly don't remember it all):
Cod
Haddock
Hake
Tilapia
Maco shark
Blue-something-or-another
Pollock

Tilapia has always been my favourite for frying. I prefer it whole, but for obvious reasons, it's hard to find whole fish around here.

I'm not fond of haddock in general, and cod is okay for frying. Back home in Malaysia we have "cod" but I think it's actually "Chilean sea bass" here. XD Not sure why there's such a discrepancy. It's really expensive, that sea bass, so I'm not getting it for now.

My dad bought some pollock when he was over and we used it for curry, because, according to him, pollock is white fish meat, which is a touch tasteless for frying, but good for curry as a result.

Next time I'm going to buy a lot of fish chowder mix for fish curry, because I think that's hilarious.

I love the fish shop at the Market. In fact, I love the market. It's like the wet market back hoem in Malaysia, except cleaner.

Right now, I'm frying a lot, and I actually don't really know how to get rid of all this oil (I HATE the idea of throwing it down the drain, hence the lots of frying). Once I'm sick of it, I'll get to steaming fish. Fried or steamed, those are the two best methods of fish-cooking for me.

What about you guys?
