Jul. 26th, 2009 03:19 pmKireiRuka-chan has decided to flatline on me, before Asato-kun, it seems (I'm working from him right now). She shows nothing but a black screen - backlit, but still, just a black screen. You can imagine my panic this morning when I discovered this. Wouldn't turn off even when I hit the Off button and held it down. Three times. Fortunately, Greenlyph is open so I dropped her off. She won't get looked at until tomorrow though.
And FORTUNATELY Asato-kun is still working. Somewhat. The Internet is funky and everytime I boot up he reverts back to 2003 (yes, he's old, I know) so yeah.
To console myself, I dropped by the craft fair down at the corner of Spring and Queen and got myself a little hairpin with a long brown feature sticking out of it, as well as a crimson pendant with dichroic glass. I like it because I reminds me of a pendant I had with Kuan Yin in it, but it's delightfully abstract, much like my own sense of spirituality these days. I was amused by a category of pendants called "Asian" when the pendants looked clearly inspired by Japanese paintings, which I think is hardly representative of Asia.
Pics will be posted as soon as I get a working computer that doesn't have issues. (I want to stab things right now because I cannot edit the GoogleDoc I need to edit and have to use a new one instead.) Which is annoying because I was feeling particularly inspired this morning to work on the essay. But now will have to wait. So instead I will catalogue for you what I am wearing:
- Black top from Sirens, which looks corset-like, and diamond buttons down the front. This is the blouse which couldn't fit me when I first bought it, and now it does. Of course, the hole I initially made is getting larger so I'll have to stitch it at some point.
- Jean shorts
- Left wrist has a cuff bracelet which I'm told is from Mexico and is silver with abalone flower on it. I like abalone shell stuff. Left hand has my crazy bellsy ring.
- Right wrist has a scrumptious gold/yellow bead bracelet made by my friend April, and my right hand has a gold zircon ring my mother bought for me before I left for Canada. I'm still very fond of it. It's the closest thing to a diamond ring that I have, and one of my best elegant pieces of jewelry. As much as I don't get along with my mum, our tastes in jewelry run parallel.
- And of course my new pendant.
It is, however, a beautiful, beautiful sunny day out, so I may try to take advantage of the day by... doing something that involves being outside.
