Sunday Linkfest!
Nov. 28th, 2010 01:03 pmHappy Sunday, people! I have 7k left to write for NaNo, some of which isn't part of my novel but dammit, that's still a lot of non-school words, so I want to be proud of it. I will kick the rest of the 7k's ass today. Although I do hope to get some schoolwork done too. I slept at 6am last night working on fanfic, guys D: For this Buck Godot scene.

At FWD/Forward:
5 Things About Ableism You Should Know
They Call It Reverse Discrimination
I kinda missed the Privilege Denying Dude things, but here's Garland Grey taking down an anti-feminist! Here, too. And here's Colorlines.org on PDD.
A Proposal to Classify Happiness as a Psychiatric Disorder. Well, if they're gonna pathologize depression so fucking much...
While we're on medical things, bullying DOES leave psychological scars. Someone must already be studying this in terms of affect theory. This whole "sticks and stones" thing? Bullshit. It's sick that we have to have proof in terms of physical neuroscientific effects of bullying before we take bullying seriously, but you know, I have a sinking feeling it won't take for a long while yet.
Some resources on woman-woman rape.
A report on a Kuala Lumpur conference about blended families and how to support them.
Jennifer Kesler has to explain again why women don't just leave abusers. The best bit: Feminism has saved a lot of abusive men's lives. And anti-feminists think WOMEN are ungrateful!
Finally, Feminism 101! has a letter for students who keep bugging the site admins without going proper groundwork. If you teach undergrads, this might be a handy thing!
Speaking of 101s, here's a Trans 101 article.

A chemist writes a letter to the President of the State University of New York, Albany, on the ill-advised elimination of French, Italian, Classics, Russian and Theater Arts departments. It is beautifully written and delightfully snarky, illustrating the marriage of science and humanities.
