Ah, but looking "natural" only takes one so far. I've always loved more unnatural colours, because if one's going to do something unnatural to one's appearance, why not go further into something that looks very different? That's why I had my bangs coloured pink.
And for art, it's pretty sloppy to not to be able to maintain it.
