Last night, had an incredible evening out with JC+A and TX! We drove to Hacienda Heights' Little Sheep Hot Pot. The 99 Ranch has hotpots for sale too. I'm so tempted to buy one. Stuff like this makes me seriously consider moving out, getting a roomie and cultivating the foodie life.

When I got home, I read Midnight Robber by Nalo Hopkinson. The worldbuilding is exquisite, but the story deeply depressing as hell. The grammar of the dialogue isn't hard to pick up. The commentary on the penal system AND on the colonialism going on is pretty subtle and striking at the same time.

I think I'll read Fiddlehead next.

I wasted the day today too.

Oh! And the nightcrawlers KK bought for me from Walmart have disappeared into the recesses of the bin. Hopefully they'll help with the eatings. I'm not crazy about them though... I mean, I know it's silly to have aesthetic choices when it comes to earthworms but I really do prefer the red wrigglers better.

I learned a great deal about vermicomposting working with Growing Power, and I have to tell you earthworms are pretty useless when it comes to that sort of work in comparison to the red wigglers.

Yeah... it does seem to be the case! I might have to invest in some red wigglers again..
