Man, that was not a very productive day. Tiny errands but no reading even though I had all that free time. And then in the evening I went to watch a shitty movie with the SF group. It was one of those shitty movies best watched with other people and I'd never have watched it otherwise. It's called MOONCHILD and it was made in the 70's and really the only interesting thing about it was that it was filmed in the Mission Inn. It was a really shitty movie. Like the acting was stilted, the dialogue was ridiculous, the plot itself was..... flimsy, the character interaction was so absurd, the cut scenes of flashbacks made very little sense, the characters themselves were archetypes with no real personality, there were these weird background characters that made even less sense.... Thank goodness for everybody else and the prof kept a running commentary going and oh man.
I got my NDN steampunk paper finished. It has to be truncated for my presentation on Friday and I need a Powerpoint with visuals but the paper itself is done! YAY. Now for Dr. B's 15-pager. A classmate offered to hang out for a paper-writing session so I'll definitely take her up on it.
My supervisor also liked the review thing I came up with. To be honest I made it up mostly because I needed SOME entertainment value from teaching these students, and I figured pop culture references would help them along. I hope to get them signed up on Thursday for consultation on Monday and Tuesday. It does mean I have to write 15 pages over the weekend because this paper is due on Tuesday evening. It needs more LOTR references and a chubapacbra.
I have a SUPER LONG day tomorrow. Baaahhh.
9am: doctor's appt
10am: office hours
12pm: skedaddle to meet with both Dr. B and Dr. L. They have office hours until like 12.30pm so somehow I have to get signatures and whatnot real quick.
5.30pm: Ethnic Studies has an open house! It will be fun. They are welcoming their cohort of this year, and prospective students. I want to see how they do it.
