jhameia: ME! (Joline)
Disgrasian received a cease-and-desist order from Tila Tequila's people because they quoted something she said last year about the Miley Cyrus affair.

I'm not sure "BRING IT, BITCH" is something I would say to that order, but I'm pretty sure lots of people quote celebrities and other public figures a lot without getting told that they're infringing on copyright. How the hell do you copyright something you said, quite randomly, on your TV show? (Particularly when the source or the quote was quite publicly acknowledged?)

In any case, here's me putting on my hardhat, elbow and knee braces, and heavy winter boots in preparation for the fray.

(And of course I haff to use a picture of Der Kestle for today.)

I don't really celebrate it at all, and I'm looking forward to the extra cheap chocolate tomorrow, but in the spirit of today, which really just celebrates love, and we could all use more days that do so, here is my favourite love song, which has been my favourite ever since I heard it in 1996.

Gary Numan's You Walk In My Soul, from the equally excellent album Sacrifice. You should buy it, because it's brilliant. My brother bought the album featuring cover art from Joseph Michael Linser, the artist of Dawn, a red-headed goddess archetype.

"You Walk In My Soul" was written for a woman Gary Numan had been dating at the time. She was a fan at first, and they got to know each other better after they drove together to a venue he was playing at (and by that, I mean just as friends). They started dating, and he wrote this song for her. Sometime after, they got married, and now have two kids together.
