jhameia: ME! (Default)

There is a translation of "The Poetry Cloud" by Liu Cixin in Renditions, a Chinese-to-English translation journal, and I have scanned it, so if you'd like it, just let me know =)

It's set in a world where humanity has been enslaved by man-eating dinosaur aliens, and when a dinosaur diplomat takes a human literature teacher to a higher being, the literature teacher challenges the higher being to write poetry that is better than Li Bai's. Cue shenanigans of galactic proportions.

It has the most sappiest ending ever which I didn't really expect from such a hard science story, but darn if it didn't make me weepy with how well it paid off.

Edited: OK a TON of people are emailing me about this, so here is the bibliographic information! http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/rct/toc/toc_b7778.html I'll still gladly send you the PDF if you email me to ask, but in case you do have access to this journal, here's where it is, or at least, you can cite it.
