jhameia: ME! (Joline)

Okay.

Firstly, the butter was hard to work with. It reminded me of working in the lab when I'd have to mix in some palm oil into whatever recipe, and it's usually been in the fridge forever, so it's like rubbing around this little bit of whatever in all the powder. I might try waiting longer for the butter to melt before mixing it in. Still, I managed.

Second, I think I better get either a hand-cranked mixer, or an electric one, because my arm hurts. Or maybe I'll get a better spoon, a bigger sifter, and a bigger whipper thing the name of which escape me right now.

Third, the cake overflowed and I didn't notice until it began burning a little because I'm an idjit who doesn't watch her food cooking. Some bits at the bottom were already cooked, and it was pretty delish, which hinted to me that it wouldn't be a bad cake. So I poured it out and left in half the mix and cleaned the oven some and put it back in.

Fourth, an hour after and the cake is cooked.

Ish good.

=D A bit too sweet, but it's crumbly and soft and perfect.

I *heart* myself today.

If you let the butter sit out until very soft [or heat it until it is very soft but not melted], it will be easier to mix by hand.
