Apartment Log
Apr. 27th, 2007 10:41 pmI guess I've never really posted any pics of how my apartment looks like, despite the fact that I moved in even while I had this journal.
This is the view from the door when I first started moving in. The shopping cart is there to facilitate moving stuff:

This was the empty corner which would be occupied by a queen-sized bed:

And this is the bedroom corner when it was first put together:

This was after I put in the study area that separated the bedroom from the rest of the space:

The space across from the bed was the closet and where the phone and modem went to:

Across from the study area were the ugly couch and coffee table. The spot where this picture was taken was lated filled by a TV. Just to make sure I had my six feet of space away from the TV.

The apartment as it is now?
In the order that I showed the "before", here are the after pics:
Entering the door, you'll see the tall bookshelf:

OK, not everything changed, the bed is still there:

These cubes I got from Walmart: they're funner. I'm going to put one more shelf on the left, and add on one column to the right:

Where the study area used to be is now a living room area:

And the couch against the wall?

Yeap.
All this in preparation for my new chinchillas. Here's what their cage looks like at the moment:

It's not complete yet. There has to be some bedding, and I gotta get new pine bedding. I also need to get a water bottle and hopefully a feeder for the food. I don't really like the idea of having to use bowls. I could have bought a hay feeder as well, but I had to carry the cage box all the way back from Bayer's Lake (a good one and a half hour bus ride) so I thought it best to just get the chin bathtub and some chin dust first:

It actually attaches to the corner of the cage. I didn't take a pic, and it's really the wrong brand, but it's cute, so whatever.
The pet home requires more than just bedding and food containers... it needs wooden cage homes for the chins to hide in during the day and for the chins to chew on. SMUDS has a ton of leftover wood from the play, and I'm going to get to them at some point for my boys.
And now ya'll know what my place looks like. Scruffy, isn't it? ^_^
