An "I like ... because..." meme

I like my company
Because the CEO has a box of chocolate for anyone who wants to come into his office to chat.
Because I don't have to go through hoops of bureaucracy just to talk to the VPs.
Because it's a small company of 40 people.
Because it sells a product I believe in.
Because the people in it don't take themselves too seriously and send out AllStaff emails inviting everyone else out for social stuff.
Because I get paid well.
Because I get healthcare.
Because they pooled money together for a co-worker's new baby recently.
Because even the VPs don't mind acting silly.
Because we get to watch people making donuts in the parking lot.
Because we have a wide variety of people, for an IT company which ought to degenerate into pointless machismo.
Because when I was putting on my jacket this evening, one of the VPs poked me on the shoulder just to wish me a good weekend, even though I don't work under him at all, but he happened to be in close proximity at the time.
Because I'm surrounded by well-adjusted adults who do work and stay productive rather than yak around the water coolers pointlessly.
Because they really liked the cheesecake I brought in on Tuesday.
I like my apartment
Because despite the $151 electricity bill, and knowing it'll go up to $300 soon, it's still cheaper than most other places for a one-bedroom.
Because I have enough space to pace around the living room.
Because I like living alone.
Because I'm surrounded by books.
Because the bus routes aren't too bad at all.
Because some of my neighbours are musically talented.
Because even if I add up all my monthly expenses (rent + electricity + phone-Internet + cell + bus pass + food) it doesn't really come up to more than half my monthly pay.
I like the blogs I read
Because they're written by smart, articulate, self-educated, brave, unapologetic people.
Because I find myself being able to express what I feel more after reading their words.
Because I find myself represented.
Because I feel a call to be kinder and more attentive.
Because I love men.
Because I get to read about issues relating to me as a woman.
Because where else would I find an anti-breastfeeding bingo card??? (Check out the anti-feminist bingo, too!)
I like my RPG
Because it has something for the scifi geeks, and something for the fantasy geeks.
Because I get to mess around with gender ideals.
Because I make myself try new types of characters that I've never played before, whether ethnicity-wise, gender-wise, or, uh, it's-life-Jim-but-not-as-we-know-it-wise.
Because I exercise character-building skills and force myself to develope various character voices.
Because I get to write my requisite 100 creative writing words at least every other night.
Because I get to explore ideas from the blogs and books I read.
Because I run with a really awesome role-playing crew who are excellent friends and even better writers.
Because the CEO has a box of chocolate for anyone who wants to come into his office to chat.
