caitlin_chan came down to Halifax yesterday with her friend Kelsey, and we'd specifically decided to go down to Talay Thai. It was really neat, because while she was parking, I ran into the_afterlight and my first-year dormmate, Adam.

This is hilarious and fabulous because Adam, who was my neighbour for two years, just moved into the_afterlight's place on Sunday. They'd JUST met, and are from completely different sides of my life (I apparently get around). And here I was running into the two of them. So I convinced them to come to dinner with us instead. I picked up the_afterlight's tab, because it was his birthday last week and I didn't get to go to his potluck. We all had a great time. It's really nice, this whole being around relatively-well-adjusted-people-who-are-great-friends thing.

Anyways, after that, caitlin_chan and Kelsey came to my place, and I was telling them about She-Ra's opening sequence, and how she says, "Fabulous secrets were revealed to me the day I held aloft my sword and said-"

And me being me, I had to find out whether He-Man said the same thing too (and he does, he says, "Fabulous secrets were revealed to me the day I held up my magic sword and said-").

The best bit about this is that the NEW He-Man series, made in 2002 onwards, ALSO has basically the same starting, except that JUST AFTER he says "Fabulous" --

I'm pretty sure I posted this before, but check out the eye-liner on Prince Adam!

Kelsey found the voice actor for Prince Adam extremely familiar, so we had to IMDB it.

Kelsey and I just about FUCKING LOST OUR MINDS, and caitlin_chan was like GIMME THAT THING and continued the search. I haven't laughed so hard in a long while, like, I was tearing up pretty badly.

In due course of the evening, caitlin_chan and I read parts from Girl Genius, because we're total dorks like that. Key points would be the bit where the Jagers join the circus, Agatha making coffee, and Mamma Gkika.


It was a GOOD night.
