TW for violence: 911 call from Trayvon Martin murder

A lady calls into 911, and Trayvon Martin is screaming in the background. The screaming suddenly stops.

Fuck George Zimmerman's defenders claiming he was acting in "self-defense". The kid only had a pack of fucking Skittles. And now he's dead because some honky decided to play vigilante on a black child.

I just can't with the world tonight.

Oh man. I knew they were fighting to get the 911 tape released and the cops were withholding it so it was pretty obvious that it was revealing, but... oh my god. He was begging for his life.

And yet the cops say that there's no evidence to dispute Zimmerman's claim of self-defense-- as if him chasing the kid down with a gun to begin with wasn't dispute enough! So nice to know that if some psychopath chases me down and I so much as swing a punch before they gun me down, then they'll get off without even a slap on the wrist.

I may have to post about this. We've been having trouble with the "stand your ground" law for a while, lately, but most people beyond prosecutors didn't care since it's mostly related to gang violence. Maybe people will take notice now that the law also affects them, potentially? Oh, right. It won't affect white people. Still, I'd be terrified to have Zimmerman in my neighborhood.
