I hope there's a happy ending. A lot of big Chinese movies lately had have really tragic endings and that's so not fun.

Me too! It's already out in Asia. The director says that he made it "for Chinese people first" and that foreigners liking it is a bonus. But they're already negotiating distribution terms!
