If you want to make me socks, please reinforce the heels. I say this because for some reason my boots which are awesome DO something to my socks and I now have 5 pairs of thick woolen stockings with holes on the heels. And some of them have lasted all these years with no problem either, so I am mightily peeved. Seriously it's like my boots have teeth or something and keep taking bites out of my stocking heels. Sigh. I may use a pair to patch up the others.

Are you able to put new insoles in your boots? I imagine that would help save your socks.

The funny thing is that the reinforcing part that knitters get when they buy some sock yarn is just a plied thread! Maybe get more socks so that they get some rest in between washes?
