Steampunk Titanic!

There was a cabaret show titled Steampunk Titanic, which didn't have too much to do with the Titanic, but it was a nice nautical theme to commemorate its sinking.
Costumes were encouraged, so the local steampunk group was dressed to the nines and some others got on it too. Our group may keep growing!

I was very impressed by this toilet-seat instrument:

When you're using a discarded toilet seat as your drum kit, that's pretty punk.
I FINALLY FINALLY got to see
ghastlycomic perform!!!

Then the first act: aerial artist and her instrumental companion.

And then there was a hoop aerialist. I REALLY like the concept for this? I wish I took pictures of the beginning, but basically, she was wheeled in on a VERY old wheelchair, one of those rattan affairs, wrapped up like she's an invalid or something, and her partner/assistant took off the coverings and carried her up to the hoop, and then she performed. They kept this sort of thing consistent, and at the end he carried her down and back into the chair and wheeled her out. And she performed with a hoop skirt.
So she kinda looked like a demented spiderweb up on the hoop.

Then there were a poi dancer and hula hoop dancer, and it was kinda blah, so I didn't take many pictures. In the second half there were a set of three aerialists:

They finished off by wrapping themselves in the cloth, like cocoons.

And made way for the next act, a ballet dancer with a cane and a jazz dancer (I think?):

Musicians onstage behind a curtain:

Then there was a spoken word artist:

And then the band came back on stage!

And there was a hoopla:

Good show, all around. Certainly a good use of a Saturday night and $20!
