Apr. 2nd, 2008 12:12 amSo I've actually been feeling really peeved at how the SMUDS production has been going... mostly because what's been happening is that I've ended up picking up everybody's slack, and I get yelled at for it, or been told not to complain because I "didn't ask" (okay, you know, if you sign up for a job, you better fucking do it... I shouldn't have to ask you to do your job, and if you can't do it, for fucks' sake tell me).
Tomorrow's the last show, and it'll be the last time I come to school way ahead of everybody else (and stay back way behind everybody else too, besides Simon and Tory). I've been handling props, buying costumes, getting posters around town and school (because the girls in charge of that? They just don't think about getting around to it before I do. "I was gonna do it tomorrow" FUCK THAT. I want it done LAST WEEK. And waking up for 7am to poster the Farmer's Market? Who else would've thought about that? Coast adverts? Press releases? Calling up former guests?)
By the end of the month, I won't be Chairperson of the Drama Society. I'm a bit afraid of what's going to happen if I'm not there but I'd like to be able to have three meals a day and not be peeved at people not doing their job. (I've been having to skip dinner since I need to get the green rooms open at 6-ish.) (Couple all this bullshit with depression, and you have a nice recipe of the fact that I've been feeling like shit, and being called "lazy" and being told "no" when I ask nicely, even when done jokingly, has left me feeling more sensitive than usual.)
But it's really just part of my nature to do all this shit so it doesn't fall apart, in a way. If it looks broke, I fix it. If it's not, I try to make it better. It's not that I'm trying to be better than anybody else, it's just the way I was taught - if I can do a better job, then step up to plate and do it. And so I have.
