Reaching Out

So I was actually writing a review of Dream of Perpetual Motion by Dexter Palmer, but I got so angry writing it, I had to shelve it, many times. Then this morning I had a pretty terrifying nightmare which has its roots in hating Dream of Perpetual Motion, although it doesn't have much to do with what goes on in it, but at the same time, I rather liked the idea of Miranda running off from home every so often, siphoning off her father's resources to build herself a giant lab underground, so when Prospero accidentally blows up the world, because you know he would if Harry Winslow had let him live, she survives, rather than being pointlessly maimed into becoming a disembodied voice (seriously, the story is that fucked up).

I am not, however, good at writing my dreams out the way I dream them, and that plot doesn't make sense anyway, so I'm taking the sense of the nightmare and making it up as I go along. I'll be adopting the same strategy as the one I used for writing Harry Dresden / Hermione Granger ficlets - few hundred words at a time, focusing on a tight wordcount each session.
